[ANALYSIS] Aeroplan Distinction dSilver Status
Effective January 1, 2014, Aeroplan’s Distinction program can into effect that rewards top points-earning members. There was a previous post on the Distinction program in general. This post will go into more details about the benefits of elite status. It is important to note that this is different from the Air Canada Altitude program. (UPDATE– You can now read our post about the dBlack and dDiamond statuses)
This post will breakdown the dSilver elite status with Aeroplan. To qualify for dSilver, you will need to earn 25,000 points during the calendar year. The points earned need to be from spending, so credit card points and AskingCanadians surveys will not count. However, the new sign up bonus on the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card will count.
The benefits of dSilver include:
Reduced mileage levels on Market Fare Flight Rewards – Earn up to 20% off the number of points required to redeem for Market Fare Flight Rewards. Market Fare Flights Rewards are exclusive options beyond the ClassicFlight Rewards that only elite members have access to.
