[ANALYSIS] Aeroplan Distinction dBlack Status

This is the continuation of my series on the Aeroplan Distinction program. I previously wrote about the dSliver  elite status. Today, I will focus on the next level, which is the dBlack status. (UPDATE– You can now read our post about dDiamond status)

To qualify for dBlack, you will need to earn 50,000 points during the calendar year. All the of the perks associated with dBlack are encompassed in the dSilver perks, so I will not repeat those perks. For this post, I will focus on the additional benefits that you will receive as a dBlack member, which include:

Reduced mileage levels on Market Fare Flight Rewards – Earn up to 25% off the number of points required to redeem for Market Fare Flight Rewards. Market Fare Flights Rewards are exclusive options beyond the ClassicFlight Rewards that only elite members have access to.

Air Canada Getaway Bonus on eligible round-trips – Earn 1,000 Distinction points for every eligible round-trip that includes a Saturday night stay when you fly with Air Canada to more than 25 popular destinations (including Florida, New York, California, London and Paris).

Distinction bonus on hotel stays accumulation – Earn 250 Distinction bonus points per stay with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Marriott and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. There are limits of 20 stays and 5,000 Distinction bonus points per calendar year.

Distinction bonus on redemption stays with Starwood Hotels & Resorts – Members receive 750 Distinction bonus points for redeeming points for a stay at Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

I really like this program by Aeroplan. I would like to once again commend Aeroplan and I look forward to future improvements.
